Jakarta – Permenhub No. 108 of 2017 requires online taxi drivers to carry out a kir test, use SIM A General and install stickers on the vehicle body. The National Driver Online Alliance (Aliando) objected to the regulation.
Coordinator Aliando April Baja then brought up the statement of Joko Widodo (Jokowi) while still serving as the Governor of DKI Jakarta in 2013. He said, Jokowi had proposed that the test be eliminated.
“The problem is that we will recall the quote from President Jokowi on June 27, 2013 while still serving as governor. He has proposed to be abolished because it is not relevant to passenger safety,” Baja said at the Proclamation Monument, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Sunday (1 / 4/2018).

Regarding the necessity of ownership of a General Driving License (SIM), Baja also expressed his objection. Because, he said, the regulation of ownership of SIM A General has been regulated in the Regulation of the Chief of Police (Perkapolri).

“Likewise SIM A is General. This General SIM A is a Law on which Perkapolri regulates the use of SIM,” he said.
As is known, Permenhub No. 108 of 2017 which regulates the issue of online taxis will take effect starting April 1, 2018 to be exact today. There have been no penalties imposed on violators.
“Our Regulation 108 process is a police discussion so that the action takes place sympathetically, just reprimanding that there are no fines and so forth,” said Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi at the Presidential Palace Complex, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (28/3).
This is a follow-up meeting between the National Alliance of Drivers Online (Aliando) and the Palace. Aliando requested that the rule be postponed.
