Purwakarta – The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) is reviewing online motorcycle taxi (ojol) and online taxi (taxol) tariff adjustments. Both of these transports are likely to experience tariff increases.

Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi said the decision to increase the tariff is still under discussion. It is likely that this February the decision on ojol and taxol tariffs will come out.

“Online motorcycle taxi and taxi fares are being discussed, because it’s something that many people must be listened to, “said Budi Karya at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta, Sunday (02/23/2020).

Budi Karya said that his party involved all stakeholders in this tariff increase decision. Starting from the drivers, users, to operators.

“So we always invite stakeholders to talk. The first thing that must be heard is the drivers, users, and then the operators,” he said.

As is known, online motorcycle taxi rates are rumored to be subjected to adjustments in the Jabodetabek zone. The proposed online motorbike tariff itself is increased to Rp 2,500 / km for the lower limit tariff which was previously set at Rp 2,000 / km.

In addition to online motorcycle taxis, online taxis are said to be raised. This rate increase is a request from the drivers. Chairman of the Online Driver Association (ADO) Wiwit Sudarsono requested that online taxi fares rise, where drivers receive a net Rp 3,500 per km. Then, the minimum cost or commonly called door opening tariff is Rp. 20 thousand to a distance of 3 km.

“Our proposal proposes a net minimum tariff that we receive in the amount of Rp. 3,500 per km beyond the cut by the applicator, and a minimum cost of Rp. 20 thousand from a distance of 0-3 km,” he told AFP on Sunday (02/09/2020) then.
