According to Koji, MPM Rent booked revenues of Rp 563 billion, with a net profit of Rp 61 billion in 2012. The largest contribution to revenues came from car rental lines, valued at Rp 399 billion. While from the service sector of the driver, the company recorded revenues of Rp 141 billion.
“For used car sales, the value is Rp 18 billion,” he said. Koji said, currently the company has 940 customers. Consumers, he went on, not just companies, but also individuals. He said the two companies that are clients are PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) and an Australian contracting company, Thiess.
He said MPM Rent net income in 2012 increased 42.6 percent over the previous year. In 2011, the company’s net profit was Rp 35 billion. Regarding the revenue target this year, Koji said he could not say much “But it looks like last year, at least,” said Koji.
He also revealed that MPM Rent’s parent company, PT Mitra Pinasthika Mustika (MPM), will conduct an initial public offering (IPO).
A total of 24 percent of IPO proceeds will be used to acquire a rental company. While as much as 12 percent of the proceeds are allocated to buy cars for MPM Rent.
Currently, MPM Rent has 12 thousand fleet with 3 thousand drivers. The company has also opened a driving school in Ciawi, West Java, with certification. Koji explained, the existence of driving school is important because in Indonesia there is still no driver certification body.
He hopes with the existence of the school, the driver becomes a recognized profession of Indonesian society. “In addition, the drivers have the ability to drive safely and environmentally friendly,” said Koji.
