Bisnis.com, BANDUNG – PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Branch, Bali, regretted the commotion of conventional transportation drivers with online transportation in the airport area, whose viral videos circulated on social media.

“Related to yesterday’s incident, I personally and on behalf of the company regretted it very much,” said Communication and Legal Section Head of Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Arie Ahsanurrohim, in Badung, Bali, as quoted from Antara, Tuesday (3/19) 2019).

It hopes that a similar incident will not happen again because it understands that airport service users have a choice. In addition, airport service users as consumers are also protected by the Consumer Protection Act.

He said, his party would take a number of steps to anticipate similar events so as not to happen again.

“First, we will give a warning letter to which existing taxi operators are involved. We are still waiting for the official report from the Airport KP3 Police Station. That’s because conventional taxi operators have an agreement with us and we will warn you, “he said.

According to him, the warning had entered into the second warning delivery related to the incident which disturbed public order in the airport area.

“The second step that we prepare is that we will immediately standardize the management of land transportation, both conventional transportation and online transportation,” Arie said.

The third step and previously socialized by the airport management to the four existing partners, namely three cooperatives and one taxi, that they will conduct a harmonization process with online taxis, which means that the online taxi business process will also be accommodated in the near future.

“Hopefully this can be done and we also ask for your support. We give all taxis or cooperatives time to evaluate and there are also requests from taxi operators to benchmark with us on how to apply online taxis at several airports in Indonesia, “he said.

He explained, his party would carry out the harmonization process gradually. Because it is undeniable, Bali Island is indeed sensitive to the issue.

“Conventional transportation wants online taxis to not operate, but on the other hand there are regulations that accommodate taxi online,” Arie said.

Specifically at the airport, he explained, it has two prominent regulations regarding the operation of airports, one of which is land transportation.

“The point is that online transportation can operate from and to the airport. Then, from the article, online taxis are those that have special rental transportation licenses. Do existing online taxis have special rental rental licenses, that should be questioned,” he said.

He added that every legal entity or individual when officially operating in the airport area, must have permission from the airport. “That’s all we do to control the airport’s capacity, not that we intend to block taxis online,” he said.
