Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – After the issuance of PM 118 of 2018 concerning the Implementation of Special Rental Transportation by the Ministry of Transportation, the Government requested all parties to comply with existing regulations.

Budi Setiyadi, Director General of Land Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation, appealed to all parties to follow the existing regulations regarding the rules regarding Special Rental Transportation (ASK).

The regulation is clear, arranged together with Land Transport Organizations (Organda), applicators, academics, and driver associations, so that the thoughts of all parties can be well accommodated.

In this PM there is also a Minimum Service Standard (SPM) which contains several aspects of services that must be fulfilled by ASK, namely security, safety, comfort, affordability, order and equality.

“Regarding the issue of tariffs, applicators must not exceed the limits set by the Ministry of Transportation through the regulations of the Director General of 2016, namely with a lower limit of IDR 3,500 and an upper limit of IDR 6,000. Among other things, the tariff setting scheme can be set by the Governor, and the applicator is also expected to work together and set prices according to the prescribed limits in order to provide convenience for the driver and the applicator itself, “Budi said, Friday (01/04/2019 )

Meanwhile, the ASK quota will be regulated by the Jabodetabek Transportation Management Agency (BPTJ), while outside Jabodetabek will be regulated by the governor of each province.

Budi continued that related sanctions for applicators will be determined by the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemkominfo).

The Ministry of Transportation can provide recommendations or report to the Ministry of Communication and Information to close or deactivate the application when committing a violation.

“We will continue to monitor this matter, and we will also cooperate with the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU),” he said.

Meanwhile, regarding suspensions or penalties which have been complained by drivers, Budi acknowledged that the Ministry of Transportation had asked the applicator to divide suspend into several criteria, namely light, moderate, heavy and very heavy. In applying this suspend will be evaluated by each applicator.

Director General Budi Setiyadi also appealed to the entire community to always prioritize safety.

“Safety is our main goal in carrying out transportation, so we should follow the existing regulations so that we are always safe in traveling,” he said.
