JAKARTA – The Jabodetabek Transportation Management Agency (BPTJ), the National Police Corlant and the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency carry out odd-even socialization policies in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) regions to Special Rental Transportation (ASK), namely GrabCar .
This socialization was organized by Grab, one of the vehicle booking and mobile payment platforms in Southeast Asia. This is intended to ensure that the GrabCar driver partners in the Jabodetabek area know and comply with the traffic rules.
Traffic is always jammed, how they can work. The driver (GrabCar) should get 10 passengers a day so only 5 (due to traffic jam). This is what we are trying to manage, “said BPTJ Head Bambang Prihartono in front of dozens of GrabCar drivers at the Cyber 2 Tower Building, Jakarta, Wednesday (05/09/2018).
He stated, an even-numbered system is indeed a new thing in the world, especially to apply on the toll road. However, the system is considered successful, such as in the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road which can save fuel by around Rp140 billion.
“The results of our study, we can save Rp140 billion for a year. This is only one, what if all Jabodetabek,” he said.
To be known at this time, even odd rules for four-wheeled vehicles have been implemented in Jakarta, precisely on Jl. Sudirman, Jl. Thamrin, JI. Medan Merdeka Barat and JI. Gatot Subroto.
Then, the regulation was expanded on several toll roads in Jabodetabek, namely the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, Jakarta-Bogor-Ciawi (Jagorawi) Toll Road and Jakarta-Tangerang Toll Road.
In addition to even odd rules of socialization, the driver partners also get an explanation of the handling of congestion during the 2018 Asian Games. Where in this international event will be applied evenly on the arterial road.
“On the Kuningan road, MT Haryono, Gatot Subroto, Kemayoran and several other roads are evenly odd. This is not 3 hours but a day is applied,” he explained.
He continued, this would also be valid for 2 months, both before and during the Asian Games. “We are disseminating these policies, because you are also our partner, helping mobility. Because public transportation at this time also cannot accommodate all human movement,” he explained.
While the Managing Director of Grab Indonesia Ridzki Kramadibrata said, his party continues to support the government and the political apparatus to implement an odd-even mechanism. “Through today’s socialization, we hope that all our driver partners will know and comply with the applicable regulations,” he said in the same opportunity.
In addition, Ridzki also said that the momentum of today’s socialization is to encourage all driver partners to comply with the regulations that apply to ASK, especially regarding licensing. This will have an impact on the calm of the driver’s partners to make a living. “Grab is always ready to synergize with the government and the police to provide safe, convenient and affordable transportation services for all levels of Indonesian society,” he said.
