TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Referring to the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation No. 108 of 2017 on Public Vehicles Not in the Route, there are some things that must be met by the taxi drivers online if they do not want to get sanctions from the police and the Ministry of Transportation through the Department of Traffic and Road Transport .
One of the points is to test KIR. The Ministry of Transportation will assist these online taxi drivers by organizing a free KIR test program.
“Next we will also hold a free KIR program, maybe next week we will do all over Indonesia,” said Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi in Gelora Bung Karno, Senayan, South Jakarta, Sunday, February 25, 2018.
Budi saw the KIR test is part of the requirement, so that his party gave the program for free. “That’s part of the requirement, we will work with applicators and so on,” he said.
For information, online taxi drivers must go through a series of periodic tests related to the vehicle or known as KIR test. This test is conducted to control the quality of the vehicle to be road-safe and safe if used driving. If passed, the vehicle will get a test pass from the government through the Ministry of Transportation.
As a first step to assist these online taxi drivers, the Ministry of Transportation with the Indonesian Police organized a collective general driver’s license (A) for online taxi drivers at Gelora Bung Karno, Senayan, South Jakarta.
“Today, together with the Police of the Republic of Indonesia, we have made this collective general A SIM, we want these online drivers to have a common SIM A with affordable price,” said Budi.
With the rush of online taxi drivers who came, he was aware of this profession is in great demand all the circles. “As well as providing income to the community a lot, therefore, we and the Police give full support,” he said.
