– Circular about the prohibition of online taxis taking passengers at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali. The intended circulation is No. 33 / KB.03.05 / 2019 / GM.DPS concerning Operational Conditions for Land Transportation Services at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport. The regulation was implemented since Wednesday (24/4) for land transportation vehicles operating in the airport area.

One of the points in the letter prohibits special rental transportation that works with technology-based applications, whether individuals, associations, or cooperatives that do not have permission from PT Angkasa Pura Ngurah Rai Airport to pick up passengers.

Head of Public Relations of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Arie Ahsanurrohim, when confirmed, said that the circular letter was a notification or appealed to the public.

“Yes it is indeed prohibited as long as it does not have a company permit. Both conventional and online,” Arie said when confirmed via telephone, Friday (3/5) night.

Arie also explained, the circular letter was actually issued due to a dispute between online and conventional taxis some time ago.

“Demands from the public asked the airport to be firm. We agreed to make a Circular Letter explaining that it was not only for online taxis or for conventional,” explained Arie.

“But regarding land transportation services. Principles or conclusions for all business activities from companies, legal entities and individuals, the association must have permission from the airport and have a cooperation agreement. If people think of it as an illegal taxi and indeed there is no agreement from us. That’s what we will actually do, “continued Arie.
