, Jakarta – Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi ensure his side continue to make efforts to curb the riders and taxi companies online.

Currently, his office has conducted data collection on all drivers and vehicles used for online taxis. “If the test KIR (vehicle test) is now reached 50 percent, we continue to do testing,” said Budi Karya in his office on Thursday (18/08/2016).

Budi said, now there are three things that must be met by the provider of online taxi services. First the General License ownership requirement. Second, the vehicle must be tested KIR, and the three companies must have legal entity.

Regarding the ownership of General License, Budi said that currently the majority of online taxi drivers still use SIM A or private vehicle driving license. Budi asserted, this is clearly against the rules.

Not wanting to be reckless and not harming the public, the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) continues to register General SIM in some places for free and has not given sanctions for the taxi drivers online.

“It means that online taxi friends who have done KIR test and have a General SIM we are tolerant first,” said Budi.

“We have to equate, I admit I am happy to use and I love the application, but it should not hurt others as well,” added Budi. (Yas / Ahm)
