Jakarta – Minister of Transportation Regulation Number 118 of 2018 or PM 118 concerning the implementation of special rental transports will take effect in full as of June 18, 2019. One that is regulated is about the amount of online taxi fares.
detikFinance on Wednesday (06/19/2019) tried one of the online taxis, namely Go-Car to find out firsthand the application of the rules.
The trial was conducted during rush hour, which is around 08.00 WIB to Tanjung Barat Station with a distance of 12.2 km. The tariff charged is IDR 46 thousand.
To find out the per-km tariff is Rp. 46 thousand, detikFinance divides it by a distance of 12 km so that the per-km tariff is Rp. 3,833.
Referring to PM 118, the tariff is regulated by region. Region I includes Java, Sumatra, Bali with a lower limit of Rp. 3,500 per km and an upper limit of Rp. 6,000 per km.
Meanwhile, region II covering Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, and Papua has a lower limit rate of Rp. 3,700 per km and an upper limit of Rp. 6,500 per km.
Jakarta itself entered into region I. Referring to this, the tariffs imposed by online taxis, especially Go-Car today, do not violate PM 118.
