JAKARTA – The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) today officially changes new regulations related to Ministerial Regulation (PM) 108 of 2018 concerning the Implementation of People’s Transportation with Non-In-General Public Vehicles Routes or online taxis.

Budi Setiyadi, Director General of Land Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation, said that the successor to PM 108 had been signed by Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi. And will be valid for the next six months.

“Substitutes for PM 108 will begin to be applied or will take effect in the next six months. Precisely in May 2019,” he said at the Ministry of Transportation Building, Jakarta, Tuesday (12/18/2018).

He explained that, this substitute for PM 108 was specific. As the Supreme Court (MA) annulled, it was unable to re-enter PM 108. Where the Ministry of Transportation has also issued several articles of norms that cannot be regulated by the Supreme Court.

“As for the KIR Test problem, I did not input it in this new PM and this sticker cannot be used. However, for accommodation for individual vehicles, we will accommodate it,” he said.

He said, there were several articles that the Ministry of Transportation issued, such as driving licenses (SIM), public whose domain was police and not regulated by the National Police Chief. “Where in Article 22 there is already a corresponding general SIM,” he said.

Previously, the rules regarding online transportation were eventually issued by the Government. This was followed by the signing of the draft online transportation rules by the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi.
