JAKARTA – The protests carried out by thousands of drivers of online-based transport apparatus in Jabodetabek against the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation (Permenhub) Number 108/2017, on the Implementation of Public Transport of People Not In the Route understood by Member of House Commission V Moh Nizar Zahro.

Politician Gerindra is assessing that the rules issued by the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi is not a permanent solution to technological advances in the field of transportation, mainly online-based transport applications.

It said Nizar, Permenhub 108/2017 does require that every online taxi driver has a type test registration certification (SRUT), and must attach a sticker with a large size on a taxi vehicle.

That rule is being protested.

“The online taxi driver considers the two rules to be in violation of the rules because in the previous minister has been canceled by the Supreme Court, but now it is raised again,” Nizar told jpnn.com in the Parliament complex on Monday (29/1).

Therefore, the politician from Madura said, the only way to end the deadlock between the drivers online with the government is to revise Law No. 22/2009 on Road Transport Traffic (LLAJ) which has not entered the norms of online taxis, or motorcycle taxis online.

“The regulation is not yet a solution, the solution is the revision of LLAJ Law so that all existing norms can be included, especially online taxis and motorcycle taxis online,” he added. (Fat / jpnn)
