Garut – The drivers of public transport in Garut regency, West Java, today held a strike operation. The mass strike action was the result of their frustration with online transport, such as black plate taxis and motorcycle taxis operating without government permission.

“This is a form of our disappointment to the government,” said Secretary of DPC Organda Garut Yudi Nurcahyadi, told reporters on Jalan Ahmad Yani, Garut City, Garut, Monday (5/2/2018).

There are thousands of people who will follow today’s strike action. In addition to not carrying passengers, the drivers were planning to convey aspirations to the government, this afternoon.

“Participants have 3,200 public drivers of angkot, angped and elves,” he said.

Yudi said, in their action today, thousands of mobs move from two points, namely from Simpang Lima and SOR Merdeka Kerkhof, Tarogong Kidul Subdistrict to Garut Square in Garut Kota District.

“Our demands, decline online transport and then immediately issue regent regulation about banning of online-based transport in Garut regency,” said Yudi.
