Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia- Grab, the first decacorn startup in ASEAN, launched GrabCar Airport in seven Sumatra airports, supported by PT Angkasa Pura II.
The seven airports are Medan Kualanamu International Airport, North Tapanuli Silangit Airport, Sultan Badaruddin II Airport Palembang, Radin Inten II Bandar Lampung Airport, Padang Minangkabau Airport, Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport Pekanbaru and Silampari Lubuklinggau Airport.
Through a strategic partnership with PT Angkasa Pura II, Grab became the first ride-hailing company to officially cooperate with the seventh airport authority in Sumatra. This launch complements Grab’s official presence at 14 airports throughout Indonesia.
The launch of GrabCar Airport services in seven Sumatran airports is carried out at the Arrival Terminal, Medan Kualanamu Airport, Thursday (07/11/2019).
The launch was carried out by Maritime Coordinating Minister Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, North Sumatra Governor Edy Rahmayadi, Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Budi Setiadi, Director of Lake Toba Tourism Authority Arie Prasetyo, Director of Services and Facilities of PT Angkasa Pura II Ituk Herarindri and Indonesian Grab President Ridzki Kramadibrata.
In his remarks the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Panjaitan said the Indonesian tourism industry needs to be supported by adequate facilities and infrastructure and airports as a gateway for visitors both inside and outside the country.
“Therefore, I am confident that Grab’s commitment to support the Indonesian tourism sector by presenting GrabCar Airport in many airports in Indonesia can be a solution that provides easy access for visitors to travel and business visits,” he said.
Grab Indonesia’s President Ridzki Kramadibrata explained that the trust and support of the Ministry of Tourism and Angkasa Pura towards Grab to provide online online transportation services at 14 airports in Indonesia is clear evidence of Grab’s role in promoting Indonesian tourism to millions of tourists and offering a comfortable and safe tourism experience .
“We want to continue to contribute to improving the tourist experience with easy transportation services, recommendations on tourism and local food and other benefits that tourists can enjoy,” Ridzki said.
