TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) is preparing a new regulation in lieu of Ministerial Regulation (PM) of Transportation No. 108 concerning the Implementation of People Transportation with Public Motor Vehicles Not in Route.

The revision follows the existence of 10 articles which were canceled by the Supreme Court which included taxometers, stickers, valid travel documents, licensing technical requirements.

Other rules that are canceled regarding vehicle registration on behalf of legal entities, cooperative legal entities for storing vehicles, SRUT and Vehicle Test Books, application company bans, special sign sanctions.

Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, Budi Setiyadi, explained in the new rules the points regarding tariff limits, quota limits and operating areas will still be regulated.

“What has been annulled, we do not bring up again. There are still tariffs, quota limits, operational areas we want to go through again,” said Budi Setiyadi when met at the Indo Trans Expo at the JCC, Central Jakarta, Monday (09/17/2018 )

For its formulation, the Ministry of Transportation also invites online transportation associations so that the rules can protect the drivers and there are no more demands to the Supreme Court.

“We are in the process of making it today, we will also gather to listen to the voices of the alliances,” said Budi Setiyadi.

The new rules which will be divided in two to regulate conventional online and transport transportation are targeted to be completed next month or October to be continued at the public test stage.
