Liputan6.com, Jakarta – S sister of SN (24), a victim of robbery and attempted rape in Tambora, West Jakarta, was disappointed with the online transportation company Grab. 

“Honestly, I am disappointed that the concerned person when reporting his response was very slow. Until now there has been no direct attention from the concerned party to the victim, only a phone call after this problem is viral,” complained S at the West Jakarta Metro Police, Saturday 28 April 2018.

He also hoped that there would be a good or positive response from Grab. He also thanked the Metro Jaya Regional Police Chief Insp. Gen. Idham Aziz and West Jakarta Metro Police Chief Pol. Hengki Haryadi along with ranks that quickly responded to the problems that had befallen his sister.

“I report this, which I think is security for friends’ families and people who often use taxis online ,” he said.

He stated, in general, those who use online taxis are women who do not report how many more victims will experience the same thing.

“My hope for the future is to report it to the authorities,” he said.

Meanwhile, Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi also felt disappointed with the online transportation party who did not pay attention to SN who had become victims when using online transportation services.

“This is also one thing that I am disappointed, from this online company that has not yet arrived. I hope they are not a matter of material coordination but empathy is important. If there is a big problem, empathy must be conveyed. Budi said at the same meeting.

Until now, victims of robbery and attempted rape are still traumatized by the incident. “My younger brother is still in recovery so he is unable to face the media,” said S.

SN (24) became a victim of confinement while riding an online taxi from Duri Selatan, Tambora, West Jakarta, Monday April 23 at around 6:30 a.m. He wanted to go to Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta.

Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Regional Police Kombes Argo Yuwono said, the incident began when San San ordered an online taxi from the crime scene (TKP). When I was in an online taxi, suddenly two people were intentionally evil from the back seat.

“The victim was immediately held by two unidentified men in a jacket. Then, the victim’s legs were tied up,” Argo said at the Metro Jaya Regional Police Headquarters, Wednesday (25/4).

Made helpless, the perpetrators immediately took valuables in the grasp of the victim, namely in the form of a unit of Samsung brand mobile phones, Automated Teller Cards, and cash worth Rp 430,000.

Grab’s response

In a written statement received by Liputan6.com, Managing Director of Grab Indonesia Ridzki Kramadibrata stated his regret was related to the behavior of the Grab Car driver partner.

“All Grab management regrets the occurrence of a crime involving one of the Grab Car driver partners in Jakarta. Our priority now is to provide the full support and assistance needed by passengers and their families,” said Ridzki, Wednesday, April 25 2018.

Ridzki admitted, Grab’s management is now tracing the confinement case to gather information from the passenger and driver’s side. To pursue the perpetrators, his side is currently working with the police to uncover the facts behind the confinement.

He also advised the public, especially Grab Car users to immediately report to the authorities when receiving unpleasant or suspicious services.
