JAKARTA, beritabisnis.com: Directorate General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation asked online transportation operators including Grab Indonesia to fulfill all the provisions stipulated in the Minister of Transportation Regulation 118 of 2018 concerning Online Transportation.

Budi Setiadi, Director General of Land Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation, said that compliance with the regulation of Permenhub 118 was part of an effort to resolve problems from the existence of online taxis.

He said that during the inauguration of GrabCar’s services at seven airports in Sumatra at Kualanamu Airport, Deliserdang, North Sumatra, as quoted on Thursday (07/11/2019).

The inauguration of GrabCar Airport was carried out by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, Governor of North Sumatra, Edy Rahmayadi, Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Budi Setiadi, Director of Services and Facilities of PT Angkasa Pura ll, Ituk Herarindri.

According to Budi Setiadi, one of the most important factors filled with online taxis is security protection, not only for consumers but also for drivers.

Online taxis must also protect the driver and passengers with insurance services.

The Ministry of Transportation, he said, encouraged Jasa Raharja to take part immediately in online taxi services.

Budi admits and appreciates Grab for carrying out various requirements that are required as applicators through several features. “Regulations118 must be implemented so that everything is in accordance with the requirements,” he said.

Budi also confirmed that the regulation was made through assessment and input. Even the ministry is considered very accommodating in making the regulation. “So if there is still protest, what can we do,” he said.

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan appreciated GrabCar Airport’s operations.

“Investment is supported and indeed needs business innovation, especially in transportation services,” he said.

Director of Services and Facilities of PT. Angkasa Pura II, Ituk Herarindri acknowledged, AP II appreciated GrabCar Airport service operations at the airport.

At the airport, he said, 68 percent of the passengers were from millennials and so a service from the application base was very suitable.
