TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi said the rules for online taxis have entered the finalization stage. According to him, after the final rule the Ministry of Transportation will conduct socialization.

“The finalization stage. Later we will do soft socialization,” Budi Karya said at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Wednesday, December 12, 2018.

The new regulation is a substitute for the Minister of Transportation Regulation or Minister of Transportation No. 108 of 2017 concerning the Implementation of People Transportation with Public Motor Vehicles Not in Route. Permenhub was officially revoked by the Supreme Court or MA on May 31, 2018.

In the same location Director General of Land Transportation Budi Setyadi said the latest rule for replacing PM 108 was completed. “Yes, it has been completed this month, even if I am not disturbed by the Christmas and New Year transportation, I have already gone to the area for socialization,” said Budi Setyadi.

Budi Setyadi said the regulation had now been submitted to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights last week. “But I haven’t checked this number yet or not from Kemenkumham,” said Budi.

According to Budi, socialization regarding the rules must be done. Budi said that when he visited the regions some time ago, he got input about UMKM or individuals.

He said individuals were indeed accommodated in the regulation. However, according to Budi, later individual positions regarding licensing issues and so on must take care of themselves.

“That is the rule of the Supreme Court. If we are in individuals it seems that there will certainly be obstacles in its activities. If there is anything he takes care of himself and so on. And licensing if possible for example in legal entities or cooperatives can be together right,” said Budi.

Budi said the applicators were in line with the Ministry of Transportation. “Someone is questioned, but they don’t say, regarding the quota limit problem. So how many quota is there in one province, they certainly don’t want to be restricted,” Budi said.

While regarding online taxi rates, said Budi, the applicators had agreed with the Director General’s Regulation which amounted to Rp. 3,500 to 6,500. “If their pick hour please play elevated, but not more than IDR 6,500, if they exceed it means violation. But if it’s quiet, it’s not under IDR 3,500,” he said.
