Jakarta – The government revises the online taxi from Minister of Transportation Regulation No. 26 of 2017 on the Transportation of People with Public Vehicles Not in the Online Route or Taxi.

Implementation of the revision is done again because the Supreme Court (MA) has revoked 14 points in the Minister Regulation that was sued in the test of the material. The Supreme Court considers that there are some rules that are contrary to the Law on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and the LLAJ Law.

Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi said the implementation of the revised regulation is done for equality for all parties.

“The Ministry of Transport hopes that through this improvement, we want to give equal opportunity to all parties and also provide certainty and safety and security for passengers,” said Budi Karya, quoted from the Bureau of Communications and Public Information, Friday (20/10/2017) .

Budi hope with equality for all parties, then there will be no monopoly by a company. In addition to protecting the passengers, revision of PM 26/2017 is also done to accommodate the interests of the driver.

“What we do is in addition to protecting passengers but also protecting the drivers, those who already own cars, their vehicles can still exist and still earn a decent income,” said Minister of Transportation.

Secretary General of the Ministry of Transportation Sugihardjo said 14 points that had been abolished by the Supreme Court were re-enacted in this revision because in accordance with the public dialogue the drafting of the 26/2017 PM revision it received input that the government should actively protect business competition.
“In the public dialogue we get the aspirations of all parties, such as from the media, academia, practitioners, and online communities who expect that the government, in the first place should actively protect business competition. Therefore we re-arrange the rules of the special lease or commonly known as online rental, “said Sugihardjo.

There are nine points regulated in the revised PM 26 of 2017. Starting with the argometer, tariff, area of ​​operation, quota and requirement planning, minimum requirements of five vehicles, proof of ownership of motor vehicle domicile mark of motor vehicle number, test type registration certificate (SRUT), and role applicator. The design is still being discussed and will be enforced from 1 November 2017
