JAKARTA – A number of online taxi drivers held a demonstration in front of the Indonesian Grab office located in Lippo Kuningan, Jalan HR Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (09/25/2018). Their action was to protest a number of policies made by Grab application providers.

The demonstration of the online taxi driver also drew protests from road users who passed Jalan HR Rasuna Said, especially those that led to Central Jakarta. Because, the lane of Jalan HR Rasuna Said which leads to Menteng, Central Jakarta, can only be used in one lane.

“The demonstration is okay, but if the car is parked on the street, there are other road users. This is only one lane,” said one motorbike driver, Bayu Primanda, on Jalan HR Rasuna Said, Kuningan, South Jakarta.

Okezone’s monitoring, Jalan HR Rasuna Said from the direction of Mampang Prapatan headed for Menteng, Central Jakarta, in the afternoon before the afternoon it seemed to be badly jammed. Congestion has even snaked up in front of the Ministry of Health Building (Kemenkes).

“The traffic jam has reached the front of the Ministry of Health Building. One way that can be used,” explained Bayu.

Dozens of cars used by online taxi drivers are parked in the slow lane of Jalan HR Rasuna Said. As a result, only one road can be used by road users passing Jalan HR Rasuna Said.

At present, a number of mass online taxi drivers are still carrying out their actions in front of the Indonesian Grab office, and police have been deployed to guard the action and break down the traffic on Jalan HR Rasuna Said.
